Welfare Association Jared (WAJ) is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 with a mission to empower marginalized communities, promote sustainable development, and provide critical disaster relief. Over the decades, WAJ has played a pivotal role in fostering education, advocating for women’s participation in governance, and implementing livelihood programs.
We collaborate with local and international partners to create impactful initiatives that enhance the quality of life for vulnerable populations. From distributing Ramazan food packages to receiving accolades like the START shield, WAJ continues to strive for a democratic, peaceful, and prosperous society.

CEO's Message
At Welfare Association Jared (WAJ), our mission is to empower marginalized communities through sustainable development initiatives. Since our establishment in 1988, we have been dedicated to advocating for the basic rights of men, women, and underserved populations, striving for policy and institutional reforms to create a more equitable society.
Our journey has been marked by significant milestones, including providing critical disaster relief to flash flood victims in Kaghan Valley in 1992 and motivating women’s participation in the 2001 and 2005 Local Government elections, marking historic steps towards gender inclusivity in the region.
We focus on sustainable livelihoods, microfinance, enterprise development, and natural resource management to foster economic prosperity and environmental conservation. Our vision is to create a democratic, peaceful, prosperous, and environmentally friendly society, and we work tirelessly to turn this vision into reality.
