Consultant for Victim Support Officers Training

VACANCY ANNOUCEMENT
We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Training Consultant to design and deliver comprehensive capacity-building training for Victim Support Officers (VSOs)
as part of our broader initiative to strengthen protection services for vulnerable communities.
The selected consultant will be responsible for developing a detailed training curriculum aligned with national standards and best practices in victim support services.
The training will focus on enhancing the skills, knowledge, and professionalism of VSOs to ensure they can effectively respond to cases of violence against women and
other vulnerable groups, maintain confidentiality, provide emotional support, and coordinate with relevant referral agencies.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop a comprehensive training manual and session plans tailored to the needs of Victim Support Officers.
    Deliver structured training sessions covering:

    • Sensitivity and understanding of victims’ needs
      Victim handling and interview techniques
      Legal frameworks and police procedures related to gender-based violence
      Confidentiality and data handling protocols
      Referral mechanisms and coordination with legal aid, medical, and shelter services
      Psychological support and trauma-informed approaches
      Facilitate practical workshops and simulations to build competencies in real-life scenarios.
      Train VSOs on maintaining accurate records, reporting procedures, and case management systems.
      Conduct post-training evaluations to assess learning outcomes and recommend follow-up interventions.
      Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in designing and conduct of trainings.
      Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and victim rights.
      Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
      Relevant academic qualifications and certifications.
